I have no experiences with these lines but I would also look at Paiste Alphas, there awesome cymbals for the price. I agree with whoreian, get the ZHTs, they are the best of the Zildjian sheet bronze cymbals, and if you get them in a pack, they are only like 50 bucks more than the ZXTs, so for 50 bucks, you might aswell.
In my experiences with both I think Sabian's B8 Pro line sounds better than either of the Zildjian options. Paiste PST5's are also decent cymbals for the price. I'm sure if you wanted to stick with Zildjian for a reason my recommending two completely different brands doesn't seem like much help, but the reason is I've never heard any cymbals in Zildjian's lower lines that sounded any good.
Sabian and Paiste's offerings in the same price range just sound quite a bit better to my ears. Drumolator Platinum Member. Although they sound different, they are about the same in quality.
However, Sabian made improvements to the B8Pro line, different hammering and profile. So they are worth checking out. Good luck. Drumolator said:. Click to expand I want to play some drums in my garage. I saw the light. Treasure is relative. He just wanted to jam! This is common in budget cymbals. And as with cookies, this is not necessarily a bad thing. This ride, with its evenly hammered, widely lathed surface, has a well-defined ping.
The low wash under the ping is full, but not harsh. However, that bit of low-budget whistle went away when I was under the headphones, jamming along to iTunes. I'm actually amazed Zildjian would put their name on them instead of releasing them under a different brand name. I personally wouldn't waste my money on them. They're a bit more, but if you can save up for some Paiste PST-5s I think they are by far the best bang for the buck low-end cymbals.
I'd rank them in this order But the PST-5s really, in my opinion, are in a diffrent league than the other two. I'm not one of those brand loyal types. I actually really love the sound of a lot of the high end Zildjian cymbals and am looking to upgrade from my Paiste PST-5s to something like Zildjian K customs.
But I really dislike the ZBTs. I know that any Zildjian ages really well, but what about the PST's? I am also very loyal to Zildjian, but would also go for a Paiste Signature any day.. B8's to me are no good juju. They sounded way better to me than the zbt's I was rocking at the time. Yeah, they don't sound anywhere near as good as what I'm currently using, but I could make them work.

Ignited Posted August 14, They both suck. Save your money for some cymbals that actually sound decent. Rumor Posted August 14, Just a pet peave of mine, but they are "cymbAls" not "cymbOls.
